I love those people who are in a leadership, prominent and
recognizable role yet are extremely humble, kind and treat you as an equal. Frances Owens is that person. Yes, she is the former first lady of Colorado
and she plays a prominent role in our community but every time our paths cross
she treats me as an equal. It does not
matter if I run into her at the grocery store, at a fundraising event or even
the ballet she always treats me with extreme kindness. To me this is a true leader because she
values everyone, she treats them with respect no mater their economic
situation, their education or their status.
I feel honored to know her and call her my friend.
