Day 90 of Gratefulness: Water

Today I am truly grateful for water.  It is a necessity for life and so often we take it for granted.  Water is very powerful not in just the force but it what is provides to each of us….. life.   The sound of water whether it be a drip, drip, drip, a downpour, softly flowing or raging is almost elegant and smooth.  I love the way water breathes into every pore of my skin on the rainy day or when I drink a cool glass of water how I feel like I just come alive.  I am truly grateful for water.

Day 89 of Gratefulness: Guacamole

At the start of the warmer weather I can be kind of an addict to guacamole.  The homemade stuff is the best, especially when you add bacon bits to the mix.  It all began in San Diego with Eric & Jenny.  They taught me how to make the homemade guac.  All you need is a few avocados and guacamole seasonings mix.  Then Scott showed me how to mix my own seasonings and one time I accidently put salad toppings in rather than the guacamole seasonings- hence the bacon bits.  It is an easy to make snack that keeps you coming back for more.  The bacon bits add a nice taste it even the soy based ones.

Day 88 of Gratefulness: Cathy McNamara

It is always an honor and a blessing to meet folks like Cathy.  I originally met Cathy over coffee on South Pearl Street and from the start I was amazed at her enthusiasm and dedication for Mending Faces.  Over the last 8 months I have worked with Cathy on several project for Mending Faces including the Restoring Hope event, outreach for the 2012 medical mission and several Rotary presentation.  She brings so much joy to the organization and I am grateful she is here.
